Wesley Edward Talbot

Wes Talbot (1955-2023), father, musician, music producer/arranger, and voice-over artist of Miami Beach, FL and North Fork, NY died June 20th at Jackson Memorial Hospital, Miami from complications following transplant surgery. At the end, he provided his family and friends with a story of hope, love, and loss, as well as courage and dignity.

He is survived by his partner of eighteen years, Deb Colitti, sisters Wendy Bray of Glastonbury, CT and Gail Dellorusso of Feeding Hills, MA, and his cherished son, Maxwell Talbot of Boston, MA. Wes also leaves behind beloved stepchildren Jamison and Hadley Wiggins and adored granddaughter Grey, 6.

Born in Springfield, MA on June 24th, 1955, Wes graduated West Springfield High School (1973) and later attended The Berklee College of Music of Boston. After many years playing in the Pioneer Valley with the rock band Forest, Wes directed his abundant creative talents to the production and engineering side of the recording studio, working for years in both LA and NYC, recording and producing bands, writing and producing jingles, composing corporate film soundtracks, and over-seeing all facets of radio spot productions. Returning to western Massachusetts in 1989, Wes founded the world-wide distributed Fresh Music Library, a production music library that revolutionized how music was bought and used by the film and broadcast industries. Having sold Fresh in June of 2008, Wes continued his voice-over career and free-lance audio and music production projects doing business as Music/Media Productions. In the recording studio, Wes was a “Pro’s Pro”.

An insatiable reader always feeding his enthusiastic curiosity, Wes was knowledgeable on many fronts, including literature, theatre, and sports, making him an unbeatable trivia opponent. King of the punch line, Wes was known for his quick, sometimes acerbic wit and keen sense of humor, which could light up any party. He is not known, however for skills in the kitchen, having once said, “Talbots don’t cook….Talbots toast”.
