WESTFIELD – Gary J. Wellspeak, 75, (1947-2023) passed away at Western Mass Hospital, Westfield, on July 13th, 2023. He was born in Westfield MA to Henry J. Wellspeak and Eleanor (Hunt) on December 23rd, 1947, and raised in Chester MA. Gary was a true woodsman, a hunter, fisherman, and hiker. His old school knowledge was vast and irreplaceable. Gary was also talented enough to fix, repair or remodel anything. He could fix autos, do plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and generally troubleshoot and resolve any problem. He will be sadly missed.
Gary is survived by his wife Carol (McCaul) of 44 years, his sister Lori Emmonds (Dave) of Westfield, his first wife Janice LePage who gave him two great sons, James Ty Wellspeak (Dao) of Thailand and Ronald Dean Wellspeak (Tammy) of Southwick. He also leaves three stepchildren, Terry (Foote) Jorgensen of Westfield, Jody (Foote) Neumann (Scott) of Torrington CT, Darren Gilmet (Lyne) of Westfield and nine grandchildren.
Gary was predeceased by his brother Henry (Hank) Wellspeak, his grandson Garrett M. Neumann, his nephew Jeremy Emmonds, and his son-in-law Clifford Ike Jorgensen.
