Jeanne M. Walsh

WESTFIELD – Jeanne M. (Cooper) Walsh (1959-2024), of Westfield, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Friday, June 21st, 2024. She was 64. Born in Boston, she was the daughter of the late Janet M. (Noviello) and William R. Cooper.

Jeanne was a graduate of Somerville High School in 1977 and worked for many years as a clerk in the Cambridge Registry of Deeds before she retired. She was a member of the American Legion Post 124 Auxiliary, Westfield, MA. She was also a member of the Legion Riders, Post 124. She enjoyed riding on motorcycles with her fellow sisters and brothers, in which she called family, to different locations in Massachusetts, Connecticut, and Vermont where they dined at different restaurants and ended their day with ice cream on the way home. Jeanne enjoyed going to breakfast with her sister riders. She never missed a Friday night Queen of Hearts chance to win at the Legion. Jeanne participated in numerous ceremonies at Parker Park honoring our Veterans as well as riding in parades with her husband representing the Legion and honoring Veterans.

Jeanne is survived by her beloved husband, Augustus “Gus” F. Walsh, Jr. of Westfield, her brother Michael H. Cooper of Braintree, her sister Laura J. (Cooper) Frye and her husband Robert of Flowery Branch, GA, her sister-in-law Donna E. (Walsh) Boock and her husband Brian of Aumsville, OR, and brother-in-law Peter A. Walsh of Salome, Arizona, many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins and many cherished friends.

A Funeral Home Service will be held on Thursday, June 27th, 2024 at 10 a.m. in the Firtion Adams Funeral Service, 76 Broad Street, Westfield followed by burial in the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main Street, Agawam. Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday from 4-7 p.m. with an American Legion Auxiliary Service at 6:30 p.m. in the funeral home. www.firtionadams.com
