WESTFIELD – Elaine Cynthia (Nawrocki) Mazurek, 96, a loving, devoted and kind-hearted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away on August 18th, 2024 and is now with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She was born on May 23rd, 1928 in Westfield, MA in the home of her parents Frank and Mary (Pluta) Nawrocki.
She was raised in Westfield, graduated from Holy Trinity School and is a graduate of Westfield High School, class of 1945. Elaine is also a graduate of the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston and attended the Sherwood Music School in Chicago. She was the accompanied pianist for the minstrel shows held at Holy Trinity Church. Elaine enjoyed teaching piano for 50 years, inspiring both children and adults to play. Her patience, kindness, and talent made her a great piano teacher who was endeared by many students.
Elaine met her future husband, Ernest Edwin Mazurek, on a vacation with her girlfriends to Lake George, upstate New York. After they got married, they lived in New York for the next 22 years. Spending most of those years in Old Bethpage, Long Island. They raised three children there and started several businesses before moving to Westfield. They helped Elaine’s parents with their apartment rental business which they eventually took over. Elaine loved to spend time outside in her yard attending to her flower and vegetable gardens. She had fun doing crossword puzzles daily, going to Bingo and telling jokes. She liked running around to garage sales and even having a yearly one herself. Elaine and her husband Ernie always enjoyed hosting large family gatherings, especially for the holidays.
She was predeceased by her father, Frank Nawrocki, mother Mary Pluta Nawrocki, sister, Virginia Nawrocki and brother Francis Nawrocki, Jr.
Her sweet memory will forever be cherished by her surviving family: Son David Mazurek and wife Joan of Hauppauge, NY, daughter Diane Cramer and husband John of Spavinaw, OK, daughter Doreen Fedora and her husband Robert of Russell, MA. Granddaughter Melanie Orlowski and husband Michael and their children Jameson and Abbigail of St. James, NY. Granddaughter Alyssa Schramm and husband Matt and their children Mathew and Alexis of Garden City, NY, Grandson Brandon Mathews and wife Annelise of Shawnee, KS, Granddaughter Tiffany Mazurek of Hauppauge, NY, and granddaughter Shanna Mann and husband Darren and their daughter Noel of Anna, Texas.

Funeral services for Elaine’s Celebration of Life will be held at Firtion-Adams Funeral Service at 76 Broad Street, Westfield, MA on Monday, August 26th. Calling hours will be held from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. and a service will follow at 1 p.m. Burial will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery.
