WESTFIELD – Richard H. Bixby, 75, passed away on Wednesday, October 16, 2024 at home. He was born on November 18, 1948 in Springfield to the late Paul and Mary (Sutton) Bixby. He was raised in Springfield and attended Technical High School and graduated in 1966.
Richard served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam era. He then went on to Western New England College where he received a bachelor’s degree in accounting. After college Richard worked for many years as an accountant before retiring and dedicating his time focusing on the care of his wife in her remaining years.
Richard was an avid woodworker, animal lover and sports enthusiast. He was involved with his sons in Boy Scouts and baseball teams. Richard was also a Freemason.
Richard is predeceased by his beloved wife Josephine C. Bixby. He leaves his two sons Richard and his wife Lisa of Westfield, Anthony and his wife Jody of Chicopee, his cherished granddaughter, Isabella and family friend, Joyce Koske of Chicopee.
