David Moore Keeney

SOUTHAMPTON – David Moore Keeney, age 99, of Southampton MA, passed away peacefully on April 23rd, 2026.

David was born on December 12th, 1926, in Huntington MA. He proudly served his country as a United States Navy veteran during World War II, a distinction he carried with quiet pride throughout his life. His service reflected a deep sense of duty, patriotism, and commitment characteristic of the Greatest Generation.

Following his military service, David built a life centered on family and personal values. As a singer for most of his life, he would sing at area lounges and was a member of a choir that performed at local Veteran’s Centers, Senior Centers and at the Big E! His stories and presence left a lasting impression on all who knew him.

David was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Gloria Keeney; his daughters, Jan Peck and Lauren Gianchetti; and his grandson, Daniel Viturale.

He is survived by his loving partner of 25 years, Charlotte Owen, along with his cherished grandchildren Peter Viturale, Lisa Culpepper, David Gianchetti, and Angela Huddleston. He also leaves behind three great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren, all of whom were a profound source of pride and joy to him.

David will be remembered for his integrity, strength, love of family and friends, and honorable service to his country. His legacy lives on through the many generations he leaves behind and the lives he touched.

A private service to honor and celebrate David’s life will be held on May 1st, 2026, at Pinehill Cemetery in Westfield, MA. Military honors will be rendered. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to a veterans’ organization of choice.

David Moore Keeney will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
