Dorothy Louise Bettinger

GRANVILLE – Dorothy Louise “Dottie Lou” (Schlosser) Bettinger, 82, wife of the late Everett A. Bettinger passed away on August 29th, 2026, at Noble Hospital. “Dottie Lou” was born in Westfield on February 29th,1944 to the late William Robert Schlosser, Jr. and Dorothy Alice (Peebles) Schlosser. She was predeceased by her sister Sandra Beach and her brother-in-law, Greg Beach, and a stepdaughter, Lisa Squires.  She is survived by her sisters, Donna Cavallari (Steven), Lauri Hyde (Thomas), and Sharon Billings (Dennis); a stepdaughter, Laura Lavallee, two step grandchildren, Courtney Chafer and Nathaniel Jordan, and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, whom she loved dearly. She is also survived by many friends, including her special companion, “Buttins”.

Dottie Lou enjoyed gardening, trips to Cape Cod to visit her dear friends Ellen and Frank, scrapbooking, sewing, playing cards and spending time with friends and family. Above all, she enjoyed spending time with her family during holidays and her famous picnics.

In her lifelong passion of caring for others, Dorothy was employed as a CNA for many years. She also was a volunteer EMT in Granville and served on the Ladies’ Auxiliary for the Granville Fire Department as well as the Ladies Aid of the Granville Federated Church, of which was she a dedicated member.

Calling hours will take place from 4-7 p.m. on Thursday, September 3rd, 2026, at Southwick Forastiere Funeral & Cremation, 624 College Highway, Southwick. Funeral services will take place at 11:00 a.m. in the Granville Federated Church, United Church of Christ,  16 Granby Road, Granville. Dorothy will be laid to rest in the Silver Street Cemetery, in Granville.
