WESTFIELD – Jeffrey W. Glaze, President of the Board of Directors of the Stanley Park of Westfield, Inc. is pleased to announce that Bruce Dewey, Donna Herman, Justice John Greaney, and Steven Pierce have been elected to the Board.
Dewey, a resident of Westfield, is President of Mestek, Inc., a diversified manufacturer of heating, ventilating, air condition and air distribution equipment and metal fabricating machinery. It operates in 13 locations in the US, Canada, and Asia. He is a summa cum laude graduate of Columbia with a BA in English and cum laude graduate of Harvard Law School, and is admitted to the bar in Washington State and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. He serves on a variety of non-profit boards in Western Massachusetts including the Greater Westfield YMCA, the Westfield State Foundation, Reed’s Landing Continuing Care Retirement Community, Old Sturbridge Village, the VNA and Hospice of Pioneer Valley and Baystate Health.
Herman, a native of Westfield, is a retired Elementary School Teacher who has taught in West Springfield, Vilseck, Germany, and York County Pennsylvania. She is a graduate of Westfield State University with a B.S. in Education and Masters in Education. She has also served on Westfield City council from 1990 to 2000, Councilor at Large from 1983-1988, Ward Councilor from 1991 to 1992, and served as City Council President in 1992. Herman is a board member of the American Red Cross Greater Westfield Chapter. She is a member of the Westfield Woman’s Club and is the club’s photographer and serves on Grandmother’s Garden as a tour committee member and photographer.
Greaney is a native of Westfield, presently is an Adjunct Professor of Law at Suffolk University School of Law and Director of the Macaronis Institute for Trial and Appellate Advocacy. Prior to joining the faculty at Suffolk, he was a Justice of the Supreme Judicial Court. He has served on civic and charitable boards as well as on special government commissions, including the Massachusetts Housing partnership, the Alternative Dispute Resolution task Force, and the boards of trustees for Noble Hospital and Westfield Academy. He is currently on the Board of the Noble Health Systems. Justice Greaney holds memberships in several bar associations, the American Law institute, the Massachusetts Foundation, the American Bar Foundation, and the Irish Charitable society. He is the past Chair of the Appellate Judges Conference with Judicial Division of the American Bar Association. He is a graduate from the College of Holy Cross with honors and J.D. from New York University School of Law and holds several honorary degrees from several colleges and law schools.
Pierce, a native of Westfield is Chief Justice of the Housing Court Department at the Massachusetts Trial Court. He received his bachelor’s degree, summa cum laude, from Union College and his law degree with honors from Duke University School of Law. He has practiced law with firms in the Hartford, Connecticut, Westfield and Boston Massachusetts. He was Executive Director of the Massachusetts Housing Finance Agency, the states affordable housing bank, and has spoken and written concerning numerous topics including state budget, criminal justice, affordable housing, and land-lord tenant law.
In recognizing the new members Glaze noted that they “all have distinguished themselves in their careers, and bring a great deal of experience to our board.”
