EAST OTIS, MA – Allen Albert Schechterle, 84, of East Otis, MA, passed away Sunday afternoon, October 28, 2012, surrounded by his family. Allen was born in Springfield, MA, on March 3, 1928 to John and Aurora (Vincensi) Schechterle.He served in the Korean War where he received a Korean Service Medal with a Bronze Service Star. He worked for Ace Signs, Inc. in Springfield, MA for forty years. He spent many great summers on Otis Reservoir at the home he built with his wife, skiing and boating with his family.
Allen leaves his wife of 55 years, Mary (Aziotis) Schechterle; his daughter, Laura and her husband Eugene Bacon of Westfield; grandson, Jeffrey Bacon and his wife Leah, and granddaughter Kelly Bacon; a brother, John and his wife Edith Schechterle of Gill, MA, and a sister, Hilda Schechterle of Springfield, MA. He was predeceased by his brother Howard Schechterle.
Funeral and burial services will be private.
