Oh, oh, Russell Biomass quit because of state restrictions. Watch “exclamation point” guy go now. He is going to flip out with exclamation points. Mark my words.

Hi PulseLine – I read with great sadness that The Russell Biomass Project has been dropped. Six years ago it had Russell’s selectboard, planning board and zoning board 100 percent behind it! However, a clever group of NIMBYs killed it with lies, half-truths and intimidation!

Oh my God, do we have to keep putting up with these extremely annoying Brown/Warren ads right up to the last day?  For what, the undecideds?  If someone hasn’t made up their mind by now who they want for U.S. Senator or our next President, they are either starving for attention proclaiming their undecidedness or they are not right in the head.

This is aimed to the person who decided to steal a 200 lb propane tank from the Medical Reserve Corps Disaster Field Kitchen that was parked on Russell Rd. This kitchen may well be needed if Hurricane Sandy hits as they say and whoever you are you have left us inoperable. Please return this tank to the location you took it from as we may not be able to come up with the funds to replace it before it is needed. Even if you return it in day light and say you found it, no questions asked.  Should you feel compelled to keep it, may karma find its way to your home and the storm wreak havoc on you. Any information on this theft may be reported to Westfield PD or the Westfield Medical Reserve Corp.  Thank You.

Reading the Friday evening Westfield News I see on the front page a woman was charged with embezzlement in Longmeadow but this was for medical practices she worked for and the thing is this: if they found out she was doing this work, stealing, how come it’s taken so long for the one in Westfield City Hall to be brought to court? I still think there is something funny there, that looks like some politician is covering it up and I think we’re going to keep after it until we get a District Attorney subpoena, whatever, to make sure this person is brought to court – at least named.  We’re not going to keep letting this go on.  Thank you.

Just a comment on Monday evening’s “city property value set for review,” which was run again on Tuesday so everybody could see it.  The assess values are going up 1-3 percent.  Who assess property? Some joker from City Hall? The reasons: location, style, marketability…  increased value does not translate to higher taxes.  Why do taxes increase regardless of the assessment? I don’t recall my assessed value ever going down.  How brilliant! Increase spending leads to increased taxes.  If that statement is true, we have the right clown sitting in the big brick building on Court Street.  All he does, exceptionally well, is spent at the expense of the taxpayer.  This has gotten to the point of ridiculousness.  The final approval rests with the city council members, who ultimately are in bed with the mayor.  So it doesn’t take rocket science to figure out that no matter what your house is assessed at, your taxes are going to go up.

Southwick selectmen, DPW engineer, rails-to-trails director of boards, and anyone that’s interested: on Depot Street where rails-to-trails crosses over up behind the sewage pump, the town had a railroad station up there, up until years ago when it burned down.  Now between rails-to-trails and the large house on the west side of rails-to-trails, the town owns the property that goes from the road up to the top of the hill, where a road was that went up to the railroad station.  Now in this area there is no public parking if you wanted to use the rails-to-trails.  I would like to see the town put the road back in there up to the top of the hill and make it parking up there.  There’s a lot of people in this town that use that rails-to-trails seven days a week, and when you go by there, there are cars parked on the sides of the road over on people’s property, where that white storage garage is.  That’s private property.  I’d like to see this happen.

I see in Monday’s paper the picture of the dedication at the East Mountain Country Club for the two pilots that were killed in that accident.  I attended that and I thought it was just excellent.  I only hope these two pilots were looking down and finally got what they deserved – the memorial.  It’s tragic what happened.  You never know even when you get in your car if you’re going to come home alive or not.  I was very amazed at the group of people and it was just a wonderfully organized dedication.  And those two pilots deserved it and I felt bad for the families but at least now they can rest in peace and the stone is beautiful.  Thank you very much.

I had to do some shopping down at the discount store on East Main Street where Adam’s Nursery used to be and I needed a little help so I saw a girl walking by that looked like she worked there and I said, “Excuse me – do you work here?” and she said, “Yes I do” and she kept right on walking.  Well, I finally found somebody to help me with what I needed and I ended up at the checkout counter and line is like six people deep.  There is 25 percent of the cash registers open.  All the rest were closed.  And girl that is checking out your merchandise is bagging it, too.  I think they should clean up their act down there.  People of Westfield spend a lot of money.  They could put more people on those cash registers so people wouldn’t have to stand in line for 10 minutes like I did.  Thank you.
