WESTFIELD – Amelia Park Ice Arena will host Youth Hockey Day on Mon., Jan. 21.
The event will feature hockey games for St. Mary (10 a.m.), Westfield State University (2:35 p.m.), and a raffle to benefit Sandy Hook PTSA. Any youth hockey player who arrives in their jersey will get into the games for free and receive a “Buy One, Get One FREE” yogurt, courtesy of Mofroyo Yogurt.
“We are so appreciative to our teams playing on the holiday,” said Carole Appleton, Executive Director, Amelia Park Ice Arena. “Everyone has really come together to make this event a special day for the youth in our community.”
There will be a special raffle to benefit Sandy Hook PTSA, special featured hockey-related items, and stuff from SMHS, WSU, WHS, WYH, WMASS Knights, Springfield Sliders, and Mofroyo Yogurt, among others.
Tickets will be available at the rink starting at 9 a.m. at $1/each, 3 for $2, and 10 for $5.
The schedule for the day is as follows: 10 a.m. – St. Mary’s v. Watertown (free admission to youth hockey players); noon – 2-hour public skate ($7/adults; $5/youth and seniors; $3/rentals); and, 2:35 p.m. – WSU D3 v. Salem State (free admission to youth hockey players).
