SOUTHAMPTON – Gertrude E. (Meacham) Boucher, 92, died on Saturday, January 26, 2013 at a local nursing home with her cousin, Ed Meacham by her side. Born on June 23, 1920 in Springfield, MA, she was the daughter of the late Ruby E. (Meacham) and step-father Webster Bathrick.
She was a graduate of Westfield High School and had worked for Stanley Home Products. Gertrude loved animals.
She is survived by her cousins, Ed Meacham and his wife Nancy of Chester, their four children, seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren and Joyce Meacham, her four children, six grandchildren and one great-grandchild. She also leaves her close friends, Candy Barber and Mary Ellen Stack. She was predeceased by her Aunt Ruth Roper, Uncle Fred Roper, Uncle Welcome Meacham, Aunt Sadie Meacham and her cousin, Frank W. Meacham.
There will be no calling hours. A private ceremony will be held at the O’Brien Hilltown Community Funeral Home with burial at Pine Hill Cemetery in Westfield at the convenience of the family.
