WESTFIELD – Talent poured out of the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Westfield last Friday as a singing competition in the style of popular television show, X-Factor, took place. Children were able to sign up to compete in different age level categories. Club staff filled in as celebrity X-Factor judges.
“The kids worked really hard on their songs and practiced all week long,” said Blair Tomaino, education coordinator. “They took this competition serious and we made it a big deal for the live show. All the participants did a great job!”
After all children performed the judges chose the top three singers in each age category. Club member Dishana was thrilled to learn she won first place in the 13 to 16 year old age category.
“I couldn’t believe all the great talent in the Club! I never knew some of these kids had such great singing voices,” said Dishana.
