Russell residents baffle me. There seems to be a group of people in town that make anything and everything anyone says or does, a relationship to the proposed biomass plant or Concerned Citizens of Russell. Referencing the Pulseline, Feb. 12, 2013, you once again are incorrect and are misleading the public. First of all, Russell Biomass DID NOT clean up the site from all the hazardous materials existing there. All that was cleaned up and signed off on was an oil spill that happened. Second of all, those are not the test results being questioned and third, CCR had nothing to do with the river issue, NO INVOLVEMENT AT ALL. This has been addressed in numerous, previous postings. What don’t you get or are you trying to brainwash the public for some personal need or gain? The facts are, a couple of summers ago, during the time of extreme low levels of water in the river, several fishermen, separately and independently, had approached a few different town council people voicing their concerns. They had witnessed several areas of question including iridescent colored oozing coming from the river and its banks. Remember this was during drought conditions. They themselves contacted an environmental testing company to test some samples. These samples were taken correctly, stored correctly, followed the chain of custody, etc. and the majority of the results showed toxic levels of numerous substances that are extremely hazardous and cancer causing. Let’s not forget this was in an area where people fish and not too far from where many kids swim. Yes, the DEP did do further testing and miraculously found nothing. How can you find nothing in a well-known brown field area? Why was it limited to a select few to be present during the sampling? The biomass is a dead issue now, what would it hurt to retest some samples? Do you have something to hide? You, and selectmen; Jason Boyer and Keith Cortis should be ashamed of yourselves. You seem to be attacking Ms. Hague for trying to protect the town and its wells. That was an oath all the selectmen took; to protect the town and it’s residents. The river does feed the aquifer that feeds one of the town’s wells. Why aren’t any of you concerned? Russell Selectmen; Jason Boyer and Keith Cortis, why are you not doing your job? At the select board meeting on February 5, 2013 there were several accredited people there with documents showing the aquifer, and other related information, all to fall on deaf ears. You made reference to an “anti-industry activist.” Since when does protecting a natural resource and a town well become anti-industry? Anti-industry is another one of your buzzwords when bullying and brainwashing the public. Maybe its just ignorance. Probably it’s all of it.
I’m reading with amusement the smart mouths that are keeping on calling each other smart mouths and now one of them had challenged the other to a beef under the new clock at 5 p.m. on Sunday, St. Paddy’s Day. How exciting! Are the Jets and the Sharks going to be there too? It’ll be a contest to see who has the smarter mouth or dumber ass. See, downtown is already picking up with live entertainment!
Thank you for your invitation to meet you under the clock at five o’clock on Sunday. Duh! Sunday is St. Patrick’s Day and I can think of a helluva lot better places to spend my time having a good time than meeting with you.
