I read with interest the comments about the death penalty debate that broke out on the floor and were on Don Humason’s Facebook wall. Here’s what I was wondering. Would there be that much interest in reviving the death penalty in this state if it was mandatory that state sanctioned killing be televised? Also, how much frothing at the mouth for the death penalty would there be if the killer would only be death penalty eligible if he had coldbloodedly executed a poor, disabled or minority person? Oh, you advocates are hesitating now thinking along these lines? That is one reason why we do not have the death penalty.
Hello, I just wanted to tell the person who made the comment about the recycling man going through the bins before dumping them into the truck, I couldn’t agree with you anymore for I, too, have seen this happen and was wondering if this is considered stealing. I remember awhile back the city had said once these bins were put out for pick up that they became the city’s property. So, if this is true, or maybe I’m wrong, but if so, would this employee of the city be considered stealing from the city while on the job? Maybe someone else has more information on this matter. Thank you.
