SHELBURNE FALLS – June D. (Cote) LaBossiere, 74, of Gardner Falls Road, passed away Wednesday April 24, 2013 at home. June was born in Holyoke, MA on October 28, 1938 the daughter of Louis and Alcona (Noiseux) Cote.
June was a cutter/stitcher for many years, employed by Hamilton Standard. Her work involved putting together suits the astronauts would wear in space. She retired in 1994. On February 19, 1966 she was married to William LaBossiere. She had been a Girl Scout leader in Westfield for so many young ladies over the years. She also enjoyed volunteering for bake sales, etc., to raise money for the schools her grandchildren attended including Buckland-Shelburne Regional and Franklin County Technical School. June enjoyed ?rock hounding? all over the United States with her husband. They would find many different kinds of minerals and June enjoyed the chase to find the next unique piece. June had also experienced sky diving with her husband, something she was very proud of.
Survivors beside her husband of 47 years include two daughters, Joanne Boyd of Clearwater, FL, Janice Rock and her husband Milton of Shelburne Falls; a brother, Earl Cote of Bradenton, FL; a sister, Elaine Jurcowski of the Aldenville section of Chicopee, MA, five grandsons and nieces and nephews.
At June’s request, there are no services. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
