SOUTHWICK – Mary Angela (Ochocki) Hanouille, 76, of Southwick, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Thursday, April 18, 2013. She was born in West Warwick, RI on August 15, 1936, and she lived there until she moved to Southwick in 1955. She was the daughter of the late Walter Ochocki and Nellie Furmankiewicz and widow of the late Joseph Leon Hanouille Sr., whom she married on November 28, 1957.
She had been employed with Columbia Manufacturing for 25 years as a wheel lacer before she retired in the 1990’s. Mary was a voracious reader who loved science fiction and mystery books. She also liked to knit, crochet and share stories. The ultimate optimist, she always faced adversity with a smile and found the silver lining on every cloud.
She is survived by her devoted and loving son, Joseph Leon Hanouille Jr.; and her grandson, Jeffrey Joseph Hanouille. She is also survived by her other children; Edward Hanouille of Southwick, Lucy Hanouille of Austin, TX, Joan (Hanouille) Tomlin and husband Ronald Luster Tomlin of Franklin, TN, Catherine (Hanouille) Diaz of Ware and Paul Hanouille with wife Anja of Fort Myers, FL. She also leaves behind her two “grand dogs,” Carlton and Chookie, along with many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Helen Ochocki.
Memorial services will be held privately and at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers or memorial donations, the family asks for individuals to perform a random act of kindness in honor of Mary.
