AGAWAM – Walter B. Zabik, 83, passed away Wednesday at Baystate Medical Center. He was born in Springfield and lived in West Springfield most of his life.
Walter worked for the Boston and Maine Railroad and then Daniel O’Connell Construction Company where he retired after 25 years of service. He was a proud member of the Holyoke Local 96 Construction Union Workers.
Walter was predeceased by his beloved wife, Theresa (Goncalves) Zabik in 1999. He leaves his loving children, Jeanie Welch and her husband Daniel of Westfield and Michael W. Zabik and his wife Laurie also of Westfield and his cherished grandchildren, Eric, Christopher, Melissa and Samantha.
Calling hours will be Friday 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Toomey-O’Brien Funeral Home, 1043 Westfield Street, West Springfield. Funeral service and burial will be private.
