WEST FALMOUTH, MA – MaryAnn (Cook) Evans of West Falmouth, longtime former resident of Scituate, MA, passed away on Wednesday, July 17, 2013. She was 84. She was the beloved wife of A. Kenneth Evans, to whom she was married to for 58 years. MaryAnn was born in Needham, MA, the daughter of the late Holly Rockwood & Dorothy (Freeman) Cook.
MaryAnn was a longtime volunteer and supporter of the Cape Cod Children’s Museum, Mashpee. She was an avid golfer, reader, seamstress, needleworker, artist, and gaming enthusiast. She was also a big New England sports fan.
Besides her husband Ken, MaryAnn is survived by her children, Holly Mae Dayton of North Falmouth, Kenneth Dean Evans of Scituate, MA, and William Kenneth Evans of Boston, MA. She was the sister of David F. Cook of Medfield, MA. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Zach & Nicholas Dayton, Nicole, Ryan, and Colleen Evans, Fritz & Boo Evans-Carpenter, and numerous nieces & nephews.
A period of visitation will take place from 10:00-11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 22 at Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 584 West Falmouth Hwy. (Route 28A) West Falmouth. A service at the funeral home will follow at 11:00 a.m. Thereafter, burial will take place in the North Falmouth Cemetery, County Road, North Falmouth.
