WESTFIELD – Edward J. Parda, 85, of Westfield died Sunday, October 13, 2013 in Westfield. He was born in the Three Rivers Section of Palmer on December 19, 1927 to Joseph and Mary (Lizak) Parda and has lived in Westfield for the past sixty-five years where he served as City Councilor in 1976. Edward was employed as a design engineer for United Technologies for 25 years retiring in 1982. Prior to that he was employed at the former American Bosch Company in Springfield, MA. He was a communicant of Holy Trinity Church in Westfield and a US Naval WWII Veteran. He loved fishing, golfing and most importantly spending time with his family.
Edward was the widower of Irene M. (Rogowsky) Parda who died November 11, 2004. He leaves a son, Joseph D. Parda and his wife Diane L (Whitelock) Parda of Westfield, their 2 children, Jennifer Angeloff and her husband Steve and son, Matthew and his wife Shannon Parda and great-grandson Jacob Angeloff; his daughter, Ann Marie Dandy of Agawam with granddaughter Shauna; a brother, Richard H. Parda of Chicopee. He was predeceased by his youngest brother, John J Parda.
Calling hours will be 4:00-6:30 p.m. Thursday, October 17 at Firtion-Adams Funeral Service, 76 Broad Street, Westfield MA. The funeral will be Friday, October 18, 2013 at 9:30 a.m. from the funeral home followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM in Holy Trinity Parish, 335 Elm St, Westfield MA. Final burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery will be at the convenience of the family.
