A Masters Challenge

The pieces from what was Daytona 500 have long been cleared from the track on NASCAR’s “Opening Day.” Another puzzling March Madness’ Final Four is nearly complete.
With the first two “Putz’s Ultimate Sports Challenge” events just about in the books, we turn our attention to the next leg of our season long points race, golf’s The Masters.
Fill in your top choice for the 2017 Masters champion. If that golfer goes on to win the Masters, you will be awarded three points. Two points will be awarded if that golfer finishes second, and one point for third.
The Event #3 (Masters) winner will receive a prize, and his/her points will be applied to the overall season long leaderboard.
Fill out our contest form (one entry per person), which will appear daily beginning Thurs., March 30. Entry form for Event #3 (Masters) must be postmarked by Wed., April 5 at 11:59 p.m., or dropped off at our office located at 62 School Street by the close of business day Wednesday.
Putz’s Ultimate Sports Challenge, which began with the Daytona 500, ends with the PGA Championship in August, also includes the Coca-Cola 600 and Brickyard 400, all four men’s PGA Tour Majors (The Masters, U.S. Open, British Open, PGA Championship), the Triple Crown (Kentucky Derby, The Preakness, Belmont Stakes), and the NCAA Division I men’s basketball Final Four.
Points will be awarded to each contestant following the conclusion of every “Challenge” event.
The Westfield News will publish a weekly leaderboard of our contest’s overall leaders in the points race for the grand prize, following the Final Four. The overall points leader following the conclusion of our final “Challenge” event will be deemed our grand prize winner.
Details regarding our grand prize will be revealed in the coming weeks.
