WESTFIELD – Aileen M. (Clark) Lemanski, 92, of died Thursday, August 9, 2012. She was born in Halifax, Nova Scotia, the daughter of the late Frank M. and Mary (Keenan) Clark. Her husband of 46 years, Walter S. Lemanski predeceased her in 1996.
Aileen graduated from St. Mary’s High School in 1936 and was a graduate of St. Francis Hospital School of Nursing in 1940. She was employed as a registered nurse at Noble Hospital and was co owner of the former Westfield Nursing Home for twelve years. She also worked at nursing homes locally and in Florida where she and Walter resided for seventeen years. Aileen was an avid sports fan and very proud supporter of The New York Yankees.
Aileen leaves a nephew, Denis St. Jean of Feeding Hills; nieces, Ann-Marie Buikus of Montgomery, and Linda Bashonski of Lake in the Hills, IL, and several great nieces and nephews including a special niece, Denise Annino of Westfield. She will also be missed by her cousins, and many great, great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Dorothy C. St. Jean; a nephew, David St. Jean and a niece, Rose-Ellen Larrabee. The family would like to thank Aileen’s Home Care Aid, Tammy Dressler, for her kind and loving care.
The funeral will Tuesday, August 14, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. from Firtion-Adams Funeral Service, 76 Broad Street, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial in St. Mary’s Church at 10:30 a.m. with burial to follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Calling hours will precede the funeral from 8:00-10:00 a.m.
