AGAWAM – Alan D. Gilbert, 76, (1947-2023) passed away on Saturday, December 2nd, 2023 peacefully at home surrounded by his loved ones. He was born on August 
3rd, 1947 to the late George and Elizabeth (Greenlaw) Gilbert. He resided in Agawam for the last 36 years. He was a 1965 graduate of Westfield Trade. Alan served in the United States Navy for four years, reaching the rank of Petty Officer Third Class. He worked for many years in the Local 481 Painters and Allied Trades Union, retiring in 2012.
He leaves behind his loving daughter Sara Gilbert and her fiancé Eric Voudren of Westfield, his son Travis Gilbert and his partner Dolores of Maine and his grandsons Colin and Noah Gilbert of Westfield. He also leaves behind his brother Dave Gilbert of California, his sisters Nancy Gilbert of Indiana and Gail Domain and her husband Ted of Maine, several nieces and nephews and several great nieces and nephews.
Burial with Military Honors will be held at 3 p.m. on December 7th, 2023 in the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main Street, Agawam, MA 01001. Arrangements are under the direction of Firtion Adams Funeral Service, 76 Broad Street, Westfield, MA 01085. www.firtionadams.com
