FEEDING HILLS: Alice M (Burroughs) Polmatier, 66, (1949-2016) passed away Thursday January 7, 2016 at home. Born in Brooklyn, NY on April 29, 1949, she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Lillian (Plesante) Burroughs. Alice attended New York schools and graduated from Brooklyn High School. She moved to this area 40 years ago and continued her education earning degrees from both Holyoke Community College and Springfield Technical Community College in nursing. Alice was employed at Noble Hospital and for the past 10 years at Mercy Hospital. She was an amateur genealogist, an avid reader, and had a passion for learning, studying and taking classes of anything of interest to her.
Alice was a passionate grandmother. She was a dedicated and loving wife. She leaves her husband of 48 years, James Polmatier; her son Joseph Polmatier, 2 brothers ; 2 sisters; and her cherished grandchild Dallas M Polmatier.
A funeral service will take place Wednesday January 13, 2015 at 11 am from the Robert E Cusack Funeral Home, 94 Main St (Rt 20), Westfield. Calling hours will precede the service from 9:30-11 am. Burial will follow in St Mary’s Cemetery, also in Westfield.
