Granby, CT – Andrew Charles Humphrey, 87, of East Granby, beloved husband of Elmina Jeanelle (Lawley) Humphrey, passed away October 30, 2018 at St. Francis Hospital. Born in Hartford, son of the late Charles Andrew and Frances (Hurd) Humphrey. Andrew worked for 57 years as a metrologist for Colts Manufacturing Company in Hartford and specialized in fixing the M-16. Andrew’s greatest joy was his family; especially his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He enjoyed bringing his daughters to competitive skating events and taking care of his wife’s every wish and need. Besides his wife, Elmina, he leaves his son; David Humphrey and his wife Debbie of Southwick, his daughters; Virginia Robblets of East Granby, Wendy Lawrence and her husband Russ of Martha’s Vineyard and Leah McGuire and her companion Shawn Carey of Simsbury, his brothers; Irwin Humphrey of Billings, Montana and Ronald Humphrey of New Mexico, his sister; Lorraine Dewey of Granby, his grandchildren; John Humphrey and his wife Marcie, Amanda Humphrey, Mark Humphrey, Brittany McGuire, Heather Williams Anguiano and Hillary McCarthy and his six great-grandchildren. Andrew was predeceased by his daughter; Rachel Humphrey and his sister; Marcela Baker. A funeral service will be held on Sunday, November 4, 2018 at 11am at the Hayes-Huling & Carmon Funeral Home, 364 Salmon Brook Street, Granby, CT 06035. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours.
