WESTFIELD – Andrew S. Kim, 90, (1934-2024) passed away on August 24th, 2024 in Westfield, Massachusetts. He was born in Seoul, Korea to the late David and Oknam (Lee) Kim and was a graduate of Seoul National University.
He immigrated to the US in 1960 and received a Master’s Degree from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Andrew was a Professor of Mathematics and Computer Science at Westfield State University for 47 years, retiring in 2012. Andrew was a devoted family man who placed his wife and children above him. Andrew was also committed to his church and the Korean community. He was one of the founding members of the Hartford Korean Methodist Church, acting as an elder for the church and the choir director for over 30 years.
Andrew leaves behind his wife of 42 years, Janet, as well as his sons David and Paul, and his beloved grandchildren Charlotte, Daniel and Elijah.
Andrew was predeceased by his brother, Haekon, and his first wife, Jinkyung.
A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, August 29th, 2024 at 11:30 a.m. at the Westfield Evangelical Free Church, 568 Southwick Road, Westfield, MA 01085, burial will be private.
