FLORIDA: Ann Elisabeth (Lambach) Hartmann-Souza passed away on Saturday, June 19, 2021 in Deland, Florida, where she’s lived for the past 10 years. Ann was born in Springfield, MA on February 27, 1944 to the late Fritz Lambach and Elisabeth Baab. She graduated from Springfield Trade High School’s hairdressing program. After graduating from high school, Ann went to work at John H. Breck, Inc. as a color evaluator. Ann married her former husband, the late Robert Hartmann in 1965 and moved to Westfield in the early 1970’s where they built a home for their family. She worked in the Career Information Center at Westfield High School in the early 1980’s, later went to work for General Accident Insurance, and retired from Specialized Technology Resources where she worked in Human Resources.
In 1983 Ann married the love of her life, Thomas A. Souza, who predeceased her in 1991. Ann and Tom made their home in Springfield. Ann was loved by all who knew her. She was most appreciated for her many stories and thoughtfulness, known for her quick wit, humor, insightful knowledge, love for reading, games and puzzles.
Ann leaves behind two loving children, her daughter Heidi Fountain (Jeffrey) of Westfield, MA and her son Christopher Hartmann (Peggy) of Deland, Fl. Ann will be missed greatly by the grandchildren she cherished and loved dearly, Alexander Tracy (Amherst, MA), Thomas Hartmann-Hansen (Kuna, ID), Aaron Tracy (Lahaina, HI), Christian Hartmann (Deland, FL), Joanna Fountain-Hartz (Lowell, MA) and great-grandson Ryllenton. Ann also leaves her beloved sister Linda Cloukey (Gary) of Spring Hill, FL, sister-in-law Leigh Reinhart (Ron) of Niantic, CT, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother Ernest Lambach.
Family and friends are invited to attend a service for Ann at Hillcrest Park Cemetery, in Springfield, MA, on Friday, August 13th at 11 am.
