WESTFIELD: Anna Katherine ( Miezejewski ) Kocal , 96, passed away on Monday February 8th, 2016 at her home in Westfield. She was born in Westfield to the late Feliksa (Zyra) Miezejewski and the late Alexander Miezejewski. She was a life long resident of Westfield and attended Westfield schools. Anna was an avid quilter, bowler, letter writer, seamstress and homemaker. During WWII she was employed to sew shirts for the Military and later worked at the Granville Drum Shoppe.
Anna was happily married for 63 years to the late John S. Kocal, who died in 2004
Anna was predeceased by her siblings ; Stanley Miezejewski, Jessie Olander , Julia Saidak, Katherine Sulewski, Alice Zymroz ,and Sophie Walkowski.
Anna leaves three daughters ; Donna Martin of Oregon, Christine Moriarty of Easthampton , and Jacqueline Almeida of Georgia, her Grandchildren, Marco and Ross Martin, Pamela Moriarty, Joey and Kaylee Almeida, her great grand child Melodie, and her God Daughter Janice Frost of Maine, sister in law Sybil Miezejewski, brother in law Edward Zorek and several nieces and nephews ; Kandy, Stephanie, Jimmy, Linda, Alice, Joyce, Debbie, Alva, Stanley, Sheila, Sandra,and Janet.
Calling Hours will be held on Friday morning on February 19th from 10A-11am at the Church of Atonement, 36 Court St, Westfield, followed by a Mass at 11am. A burial service will be held at 1pm at the Veterans Cemetery in Agawam. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Graham Funeral Home in Easthampton.
