Palmer – Anthony C. Putz Jr., 66, died suddenly on February 9, 2019 in Palmer. Born October 14, 1952 in Palmer, he was the son of Anthony and Stephanie (Niemiec) Putz.
Tony was a lifelong resident of Palmer and a graduate of its high school. He served his country in the Navy during Vietnam and was a communicant of Divine Mercy Church. Tony worked as a private contractor, building and refurbishing homes in the area for many years. In his leisure Tony enjoyed spending time outdoors, being surrounded by family, especially his grandchildren.
He will be deeply missed by his wife of 45 years, Carole (Frenchik), and his 2 children, Christian Putz of Palmer, and Jennifer Putz and Henry Ford of Monson, along with his 5 sisters, Janice Rhicard of Ruskin, FL, Marianne Descy and Joseph Russo of Gloucester, MA, Christine Putz of S. Yarmouth, Veronica Lepore and her husband Brian of Silver Springs, MD, Anne Marie Clark and her husband John of Ware. He also leaves his 4 precious grandchildren, Adriana, Kayla, Angelina and Logan. Many nieces and nephews also survive him.
A Funeral Mass will be held Thursday, Feb. 14 at 10:00 a.m. at Divine Mercy Church. Friends and family may gather at the funeral home by 9 a.m. A procession to Mass. Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery will follow the mass for a 1:00 p.m. committal service. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the Beers & Story Palmer Funeral Home. For those wishing to honor his memory, donations may be made to St Jude’s Children Research Hospital .
