WESTFIELD – Arcadio Rodriguez Jr. of Westfield passed away at home peacefully with his family at his side after a brief battle with cancer. He was 56 years old.
He leaves his wife and best friend, Dorinne (Cotter) Rodriguez; his daughters, Nicole Rodriguez of Springfield, Kari Scott and her husband Jared of Southwick and Stacy Goodwine and her husband Aaron of Dunedin FL. He leaves one grandson, Carter Scott, the light of his life. Arcadio also leaves his father, Arcadio Sr. and brother Nelson and his wife Martha of Southwick, Edwin and his wife Lori of Westfield, Rafael and his wife Brenda of Springfield; sister, Aida Rodriguez of Springfield and brother Hector and his wife Sue of Springfield and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition he leaves his brother-in-law, John Cotter and his wife Sandy of Charlestown NH. He was predeceased by his Mother, Virgen Rodriguez and brother Raul and in-laws John and Dorothy Cotter.
Arcadio was an avid New England sports fan and was a talented athlete at Westfield Vocational High School from where he graduated in 1976. He married the love of his life in 1979. The happiest times of his life were when he became a father and grandfather. He enjoyed being surrounded by friends and family and was often the life of the party. He worked as an electric motor mechanic for many years and eventually became the owner of Anchor Electric of Agawam where he will be truly missed by his customers and Anchor family.
The funeral for Arcadio will be held on Friday, October 18 at 9:30 a.m. from the Firtion-Adams Funeral Service, 76 Broad Street, Westfield followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. in St. Mary’s Church. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Calling hours will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, October 17 from 5:00-8:30 p.m.
