WESTFIELD-Local artists are invited to display their work at this spring’s Articulture Westfield 2018, slated April 20-21 at the Episcopal Church of the Atonement.
Articulture, a celebration of local homegrown artistic expression, will feature musicians, writers, poets and published authors, and visual artists from Westfield and the surrounding communities, according to Bill Westerlind, president, ArtWorks of Westfield, Inc., sponsors of the event.
Media accepted for the show includes painting, drawing, photography, sculpture, pottery and mixed media. Artists interested in participating in the event should submit three samples in jpeg format that represent the spirit of their work to selection committee members Ashley Boettcher ([email protected]) or Donna Carmel ([email protected]) by March 21. Artists must include with the jpegs their name, email, phone, medium and title of each piece. There is no fee to submit samples of one’s work.
“As the arts in Westfield grow, we expect the attendance of this annual festival to expand as well,” said Carmel. “The celebration of the arts is the essential goal of Articulture.”
Artists will receive a notice of acceptance into the show by March 26. Upon acceptance, a $25 non refundable fee for a 4’ x 6’ display space will be due April 10.
A Best in Show $50 cash prize will be awarded on the last day of the show.
An opening reception is slated April 20 from 6 to 8 p.m. and the open house show will be conducted April 21 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. The event is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served at the reception.
