Artists Take Center Stage at Articulture WESTFIELD

WESTFIELD-With only days left before the city’s first Articulture WESTFIELD celebration, members from ArtWorks | Center City Westfield are putting the finishing touches on last-minute logistics.

“This event will have something for everyone from every age group,” said Cheryl Crowe, creative director. “This event is for the local artists to display and showcase their talents to their community as well as the ability to sell and advertise their merchandise.”

Articulture WESTFIELD is planned April 30 from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. at the Westfield Woman’s Club on Court Street. Westfield On Weekends is presenting the event in conjunction with ArtWorks | Center City Westfield.

General admission is $5 and children under age 12 will be admitted free. Crowe noted that additional donations during the main stage performances will be welcomed.

In addition to a full schedule of performers every 30 minutes throughout the day, the event will feature 15 artists ranging from various types of painters from watercolors, acrylic and oil, scratch painting, pen and ink, and whimsical watercolors, to a metal sculpture artist, photographers, and artists specializing in egg tempera and origami.

“We will also have five writers from a children’s book writer to adult stories and poetry,” said Crowe.

The day will also feature 50/50 raffle sales, as well as an extensive raffle table. Among the raffle items listed at press time is a Palmer PE-Core electric guitar, donated by Doug Cotton of Whip City Music.

“The artists are excited to showcase their talents, so stop in, shop, meet the artists, listen to music and just hang out and relax,” said Crowe.
