Kickoff for the opening weekend of the National Football League has come and gone, and with that, Week 1 of our pro football contest, “Beat The Putz,” is in the books, so to speak.
My first week of picks was rather ho-hum (8-5) as the Patriots’ lead over the Dolphins melted away in the hot Florida sun. I flip-flopped back and forth between the Bengals and Ravens, and paid dearly as well.
That being said, I’d like to congratulate our Week 1 winner, Joseph Aube, of Westfield, who posted a stellar 10-3 mark to win a gift certificate to The Tavern Restaurant. Congrats!
Aube and nine others, who finished 9-4, qualified for the grand prize drawing.
Week 2 offers up a few big games, including the Patriots at the Vikings, and the Falcons at Bengals. Our tiebreaker game is the Bears at the 49ers.
