WESTFIELD: Barbara A (Swochak) Ouimet, 88, died Sunday January 31, 2016 at home. Born in Westfield on January 17, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Chernik) Swochak. Barbara was a lifelong resident of Westfield and attended local schools, graduating from Westfield High School with the class of 1946. She worked at Westfield Savings Bank and was a former Librarian, working in the high school and later at the Westfield Athenaeum Childrens Library for many years. Barbara was a communicant of St Peter and St Casimir Church, a former member of the Agawam Garden Club, and was the first leader of the La Leche League in Westfield. She was predeceased by her husband Francis in 2007. Barbara is survived by 2 daughters; Marybeth Krol and her husband Greg and Ann Marocchini and her husband Fran; 8 grandchildren; Josh Russell, Zach Russell, Stefan, Logan and Aidan Krol and Alex, Nick, and Spencer Marocchini; her brother-in-law Don Ouimet; her sister-in-law Rose Ouimet; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She will be sadly missed by her close and lifelong friends Virginia Smith and Dorothy Kleis. Her funeral will be on Wednesday February 3, 2016 at 9 am from the Robert E Cusack Funeral Home, 94 Main St (Rt 20) with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in St Peter and St Casimir Church, State St. Burial will follow in St Mary’s Cemetery, all in Westfield.
