WESTFIELD (WWLP) – The air show scheduled for next September at Barnes Air National Guard Base has been called off, but there are now plans in the works for a stunning air spectacle the following year. The famous U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds will headline the Westfield International Air Show, scheduled for August 12-13, 2017.
104th Fighter Wing Public Affairs spokesperson MSGT Robert Sabonis said that the decision to cancel the 2016 show was made recently due to difficulty in securing a jet team to perform.
The last time that there was an air show at Barnes Air National Guard Base was in 2010.
