WESTFIELD: Betty L. (Slater) Allen, 86, passed away on November 12, 2021 at the Governor’s Center in Westfield surrounded in love by her children and grandchildren. She was born on April 8, 1935 in W. Suffield, CT to the late Raymond Slater and Pansy (Labombard) Slater. She attended local schools and retired in 2004 from the Palczynski Agency. She loved reading, crocheting, and watching the Western channel on TV.
She was predeceased by her husband of 48 years, Ron Allen, Sr., in 2010 and a son Raymond Slater in 1999.
Betty’s greatest joy in life was to be with her family, whom she loved with all her heart. She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter Dawn Barkyoumb and husband Ray, sons Tim Kieda and his wife Karen, Ron Allen, Jr., and Randy Allen and his wife Paula, her grandchildren Jennifer Barkyoumb, Charlie Barkyoumb, and Sarah Barkyoumb and her husband Jason Tanzer, and the loves of her life, her three great-grandchildren, Jacob Combs, Kaylynn Tanzer and Liam Tanzer, her fur baby Jimmy, and her best friend Rose Fiddler. We cannot thank enough the wonderful staff at the Governor’s Center and New England Hospice for your care, compassion and support through this very difficult time.
A memorial service will be held on November 20th, at 2 PM at the Firtion-Adams Funeral Service, 76 Broad Street, Westfield. Burial will be private and calling hours will be held prior to the service from 12 Noon till 2 PM at the funeral home. Firtionadams.com
