SOUTHWICK—Beverly Ann (Ploof) Costa, 75, a resident of this town for over 40 years, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly at Baystate Medical Center, Springfield on Monday, October 27, 2014 surrounded by her loving family. Born in Springfield, she was the daughter of the late Douglas and Arlene (Noonan) Ploof, and was a 1956 graduate of Agawam High School.
Beverly was a former service representative for N.E. Telephone prior to her retirement and later worked as a payroll clerk for McKenna Personnel in Springfield, MA. She was a communicant of Our Lady of the Lake Church, and enjoyed reading, knitting, and her grandchildren.
She leaves her husband of 54 years, William G. Costa, Jr., two sons, William G. Costa III, & Douglas W. Costa and his wife Geralynn , a daughter Anne M. Costa, all of Southwick, MA, two sisters, Elaine Vecchio of Agawam, MA , and Sheila Larkin of Southwick, MA, four grandchildren, Bruce W. Jackson, Douglas W. Costa, Jr. and his wife, “special granddaughter” Erin, & Alexander R. Costa, and a great-grandson Declan Costa. She was predeceased by a daughter, Mary Costa-Jackson in 2009.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 30, 2014 at 10:00 AM at the Southwick-Forastiere Funeral Home, 624 College Highway, Southwick, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM in Our Lady of the Lake Church, Sheep Pasture Rd., Southwick, MA. Burial will follow in New Cemetery. Family & friends may gather at the funeral home on Wednesday, October 29th 2014 from 4:00-8:00 PM.
