Bonnie R. Hague

WEST SPRINGFIELD – Bonnie R. Hague, 72, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, September 10th, 2024. She was born on March 3rd, 1952 to the late Charles and Rita (McCloud) Hague. Bonnie had a great childhood growing up in Russell with the town pool and many friends. While in high school, Bonnie was a candy striper, and volunteered at a Nursing Home. She graduated from Gateway High Schol in 1970 and was on The National Honor Society.

With her green thumb and love of flowers, Bonnie worked at Graighurst Gardens in Russell doing gorgeous flower arrangements in the summers and on weekends during high school. After graduating, Bonnie was employed by Strathmore Paper Company/International Paper where she worked in Inventory Control.

With her big heart, Bonnie showed her love of animals by supporting numerous animal rescue organizations during her lifetime.

Bonnie traveled with friends to Hawaii many times, then to Las Vegas, the Bahamas, and even took a cruise.

Bonnie is survived by her brother Dennis and his wife Pandora of Russell and her sister Candace Collins of West Springfield with whom she lived. Candy was Bonnie’s caregiver. Candace is to be commended for the exceptional loving care and support she gave Bonnie over the years. She also leaves her niece Hillary R. Hague-Woods and her husband Timothy of Knoxville, TN, and her nephew Jared M. Hague and his wife Stephanie of Westfield. She is also survived by her great-nephew Anthony R. Hague.

Bonnie had many good friends, among them are her best friends, Maxine and Kenny Kent from Florida, Theresa Burkott also in Florida, and her good friend Michel Mongeau who passed away in 2013. Bonnie was also blessed with wonderful neighbors, who became good friends, Susan and Rusty, Ann, Barbara and Carl.

Bonnie’s funeral will begin on Tuesday, September 17th, 2024 at 9 a.m. from Firtion-Adams Funeral Service, 76 Broad Street, Westfield, MA, followed by her funeral mass at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Church, Holyoke Road, Westfield, MA. Burial will follow in Russell Cemetery. Calling hours for Bonnie will be held on Monday, September 16th, 2024 from 4-6 p.m. in Firtion-Adams Funeral Home.
