SOUTHWICK – Boy Scout Troop 114 did their annual Christmas caroling for residents of the American Inn on Wednesday night.
In addition to singing carols, Riley Westcott and Gabrielle Grazia, two of the girls in Troop 114, played the recorder.
According to Troop Assistant Den Leader Lori Grazia, the troop spent their November pack meeting making crafts for the residents that they could then bring to their rooms. The troop had set a goal of creating 60 crafts and they were able to make 90 and the extras will be given to the Southwick Senior Center on Friday.
“It was an amazing event and one that the scouts and residents all enjoyed and we will back again next year!” said Grazia.
“The residents were great, they were all singing along to the songs and clapping at the end of each one,” said Grazia. “Many of them stayed after the performance talking with the parents, scouts, and leaders. Some were even talking about their days as boy scouts.”
Leader for the scout den, John Westcott, set up the Christmas caroling and began planning the event in October.
