WESTFIELD: Brenda Jean LaPlante, 54, of Westfield, MA was called home on Thursday March 19, 2015 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on March 10, 1961 in Laconia, NH, to the late Roger & Patricia LaPlante. She graduated from Chicopee Comp. High School class of 1979, and was a member of St Mary’s Church of Westfield. Brenda was a mother to seven children whom she loved more than anything. Nicholas & his wife Rachel Beaulieu of Westfield, Courtney LaPlante and her fiancé Jeromy Dube of Westfield, Stephanie LaPlante of Chicopee, Tyler LaPlante of Westfield, Shelby LaPlante-Baxter and her fiancé Rene Veloz of Springfield, and Heather & Sierra Leblanc of Chicopee. She will be watching over her grandchildren, Andre LaPlante 4, Nathan Veloz 18 months, and Brody Beaulieu who is due in June, 2015. She was the sister to Karen Gherardi of Claremont, NH, Timothy & Joann LaPlante of Southwick, and she also had a very special relationship with her younger sister Deborah & her husband Joseph Kuzdzal of Westfield. Brenda also leaves behind several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins whom she loved very much. Brenda enjoyed life in the outdoors and taking her children camping as well as visiting a special place she called The Hollow where she shared many memories. She was a beautiful grandmother and lived for the joy of her grandsons who have gained a special angel. She was a caretaker for her mother, and never left her side, while she battled brain cancer and passed away January 23, 2013. She will always be remembered for her love, strength, encouragement, and selflessness that she radiated despite facing many challenges in life. Services will be held Thursday at 10:30am at St Mary’s Church 30 Bartlett St. Westfield, followed by a gathering at The American Legion Post 124 38 Broad St Westfield, MA.
