WESTFIELD – Bruce H. Blakely, 63, passed away on Friday, May 10, 2013. Born on July 19, 1949, he is the son of Shirley (Couture) Toelken and the late Guy Blakely. He was predeceased by his step-father Arthur Toelken in 2004.
He grew up in Springfield, MA and attended schools in the city. He was a medic in the US Army before joining the Springfield Police Department where he was an officer for several years. He enjoyed camping, fishing and Nascar racing.
He is survived by his mother, Shirley Toelken and her partner Dick of Tuscon, AZ; a son, Jason Blakely and his partner Mary-Beth Morrissey of Westfield; a daughter, Tracie Blakely and her partner Jason Buikus of Easthampton, and 4 grandchildren, Taryn, Tristan, Korben and Jacob. He also leaves a brother, Dennis Blakely and his wife Anna of Westfield; a sister, Joyce Paroline and her partner Michael of Shrewsbury, MA as well as 3 step-brothers and several nieces and nephews.
Services will take place Friday, May 17 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Robert E Cusack Funeral Home, 94 Main Street (Route 20) Westfield, MA. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
