Hampden County District Attorney Mark G. Mastroianni announced the indictment of 13 area people on child pornography charges, including a Westfield resident.
In a statement released Thursday, Mastroianni reported the indictments and noted that they represent investigations over an 18 month period, which were funded, in part, by a grant to his office from the Sexual Predator Program of the United State Department of Justice.
The investigations were “collaborative efforts”, the statement reports, between Mastroianni’s office and state troopers assigned to the detective unit attached to the Hampden County District Attorney’s officer, FBI agent and officers from area police departments.
Mastroianni reports that his office will continue to identify and charge “sexual predators that use the internet to engage in criminal acts involving children.”
