Carl J. Antonellis, Jr.

WESTFIELD – Carl J. Antonellis, Jr., 81, of Westfield, MA passed away peacefully on April 28th, 2024 at Baystate Noble Hospital. He was born in Cambridge, MA on August 14, 1942 to the late Dr. Carl J. and Mary Rita (Fewry) Antonellis. He graduated from Notre Dame High School and received a bachelor’s degree from Clark University and a law degree from Boston University.
In 1967 he, and his late wife Barbara, moved to Westfield where he resided for 57 years. Carl was an active member of the Westfield community practicing law for over 45 years, a member of the Rotary Club, Irish Club, and a board member of Westfield Youth Hockey. Carl loved summers on the Cape at his family’s cottage in Buzzards Bay, and nothing gave him greater pleasure than to watch his grandchildren’s various sporting and musical events. In his later years when it was more difficult to attend in person, he would want a detailed play by play after. Carl was a social, easygoing, kind man who enjoyed life until the end, and will be dearly missed.
He is survived by his three children Joseph Antonellis (wife Laura), Gail Garvey (husband Patrick), and Jeffrey Antonellis of Westfield, his brothers Paul Antonellis of Eliot, ME and Peter Antonellis of Winchendon, MA, his sister Jean Arceci of Scottsdale, AZ, and his grandchildren Marissa, Danny, Michael, Ryan, and Jeffrey as well as many nieces and nephews.
Our family would like to thank Baystate Noble Hospital for their care and compassion as well as Highland Valley Elder Services for their kindness and support over the years.
Calling hours will be on Monday, May 6th from 9:30-11:30 at Firtion-Adams Funeral Service, 76 Broad Street, Westfield, MA. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Church, Bartlett Street, Westfield at 12:00 noon. The burial will be private. Firtionadams.com
