WESTFIELD – Carmine Del Guercio, 77, of Westfield passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family. Carmine was born in Calabritto, Italy Sept. 10, 1938 and was the son of Carmine Del Guercio of Calabritto, Italy and the late Angelina (Mattia) Del Guercio. He was educated in Italy and served in the Italian Army as a young man. Carmine immigrated to the United States in 1964 and settled in Westfield, MA where he has lived ever since. He was employed most of his life as a cabinet maker, first with Westfield Woodworking and later with the John Carlo Woodworking Co., He retired in 2004. Carmine was a longtime communicant of the St. Mary’s Church in Westfield. Carmine leaves his father, his beloved wife of 54 years Maria (Mattia) Del Guercio, two loving sons Carmen and his wife Alicia of Cockeysville, MD and Joseph and his wife Jennifer of Washington, DC, his caring sister Lucia DiTrolio of Calabritto, Italy, his five adored grandchildren Katie, Abby, Ellie, Matt and Annie and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Monday 9 a.m. at The Robert E. Cusack Funeral Home, 94 Main St. Westfield followed by a mass of Christian burial 10:30 a.m. at the St. Mary’s Church in Westfield. Burial will take place in the St. Mary’s Cemetery also in Westfield.
