SOUTHWICK: Carol Ann (Moriarty) Drummond, age 72, (1949-2022) devoted wife of 56 years to Richard Drummond, Sr., passed away on Wednesday, March 9, 2022, at Baystate Medical Center and is now lending her voice to the choir of angels, a gift she was so well known for.
Born on July 9, 1949 in Springfield, Massachusetts and lifelong resident of Southwick, Massachusetts, Carol was the daughter of the late Thomas Moriarty. In addition to her father, Carol was predeceased by her beloved daughter, Michelle.
Along with her husband, Carol is survived by her loving mother Margaret Donoghue and sister Margarite Miller, both of Westfield, MA; son Richard Drummond, Jr. and his husband James Hutchinson of Westfield, MA; son-in-law Robert Knapp of Southwick, MA; granddaughters Rachael Knapp of Southwick, MA, Nicole Knapp of Westfield, MA and Sarah Knapp of Syracuse, NY and great-grandson Liam Dalton of Southwick, MA.
Carol worked for the Superintendent of Southwick Schools as an administrative assistant for several years before she graduated from The New England Bible Training Center in 1988 and became a licensed and ordained minister. Carol worked alongside her family at JJ’s Variety in Westfield for several years and retired early from her career at The Hartford Insurance Company in 2011 to dedicate her time to care for her husband and spend more time with her family that she adored so much.
Family and friends are invited to gather on Monday, March 14, 2022, from 11 AM – 1 PM at Southwick Forastiere Funeral & Cremation, 624 College Highway, Southwick with a service to follow at 1 PM. Burial will be in New Cemetery.
