WESTFIELD – Carol Ann Parent, 75, (1948 – 2023) of Westfield, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 18, 2023 at Baystate Noble Hospital surrounded by family and friends. She was born in Boston, MA to the late Frederick B. and Kathleen R. (Cipullo) Ladny. She grew up in Dorchester, MA and moved to Westfield in 1970. Carol worked administratively for many years, first at Berndt, Antonellis and Larsen, P.C., then for Dr. George H. Flessas, and finally for Pediatric Associates of Hampden County, from which she retired in 2015.
Carol is survived by her devoted husband of 54 years, Dennis Parent. She also leaves behind her daughter Apryl (Parent) Hasselberger of Whippany, NJ and her son, Brian Parent and his wife Janine Denoncourt of Mooresville, NC, her cherished grandchildren Owen Hasselberger, Avery Hasselberger, Angelina Parent, Madden Parent, Parker Parent, and Rylan Parent, her sister Barbara (Ladny) Gaedtke of Pembroke, MA, her former son-in-law, Paul Hasselberger, of Parsippany, NJ, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and cherished friends.
All were welcome at Carol’s house, a home she took great pride in decorating. She loved to entertain and be surrounded by family and friends. She enjoyed gardening and relaxing on her porch year-round. Carol’s family would like to express their gratitude to the staff at Baystate Noble Hospital for their kindness and compassion throughout Carol’s illness.
A celebration of Carol’s life will be held at Firtion-Adams Funeral Home on Saturday, May 6, 2023 from 12pm-2pm followed by a small service. Memorial donations in Carol’s memory may be made to the charity of your choice.
