OTIS, MA:Carole Ann (Schoenrock) Saloomey, 71, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, March 5, 2016. She was born on November 13, 1944 in Westfield, MA, the daughter of the late John and Kathryn Schoenrock. She was a member of St. Peter’s Church in Westfield. Carole enjoyed cooking, crocheting, knitting, travel, summers in Otis and her beloved pets. She especially loved to entertain and enjoyed nothing more than bringing her friends and family together for a great party. Carole was generous, kind, compassionate and loving, a true matriarch of her community. She leaves her loving husband of 48 years, Ziter S. Saloomey, and five daughters, Tammy Tavernia (Lee), Joanna Bailey (Bill), Amy Saloomey (Steven Brzoska), Sara Loring (Tony), and Star O’Brien (Michael); and her twelve grandchildren, Darby, Keelin, Blaze, Baylee, Riley, Jack, Isabella, Erin, Sophia, Megan, Charlie, and William- affectionately known as “the dirty dozen”. She also leaves her brother, John Schoenrock, Jr. (Susan), along with many nieces and nephews. Her family will receive friends on Friday, March 11th from 4-7 PM at the Southwick Forastiere Funeral Home, 624 College Highway, Southwick. Her Funeral will begin on Saturday, March 12that 9:30 AM from the funeral home, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM at St. Peter’s Church, State St., Westfield. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Westfield. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Otis Volunteer Fire Department, 15 S Main Rd., Otis, MA 01253.
