Westfield – Charity Marie Roberts, 34, passed away suddenly April 17, 2017. She was
born August 19, 1982, in Minneapolis, MN, to Dennis Roberts and Cindy (Podgurski) Patnode. “Chair Bear” was the ray of sunshine at every family gathering and sought to help others however she could. She had a big heart and was a very caring person. After graduating from Westfield High School in 2000 and spending some time in the U.S. Air Force, Charity pursued a healthcare career at Springfield Technical Community College. She cared deeply about her son, Dylan Matthew Shrimplin her “Dyl Pickle”, and cherished every moment spent with him. In addition to her son, Charity is survived by her parents, Dennis Roberts and his wife, Cindy, of Felton, DE, and Cindy Patnode and her husband, Richard, of Westfield; sister, Melissa McClain and her husband, Dave of Holyoke; sister, Heather Stevenson and her husband, Ron of South Hadley, brother Wesley Roberts of Felton, DE, Sister, Jennifer Riley and her husband, Christopher Riley, of Charlotte, NC. Also, missing Charity is her four nieces, Merissa, Gabi, Abbie, Amanda; three nephews, Ethan, Jacob, Richie; two grandmothers, Cecile Podgurski, and Nancy Walker and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends whose lives she touched and changed. She is predeceased by her grandparents Edward Podguski Sr, Albert and Lorriane Roberts, Robert “Bob” Ruel, Robert and Jeannette Patnode, Laurence Walker and Mike Ruczinski.
Friends and family are asked to gather for a Liturgy of Christian Burial, Monday April 24, 2017 at 10AM at St. Mary’s Parish, 30 Bartlett St., Westfield.
