RUSSELL: Chong Lim (Kim) Yu, 89, of Russell passed away peacefully at her home in Russell surrounded by a loving family. Mrs. Yu was born in Seoul, South Korea, Sept 27, 1925, daughter of the late Ki Hwan and Chong Song (Lee) Kim. Educated in the Seoul Schools and graduating high school there, Mrs. Yu was a self made woman, owning and operating an Importing and Exporting business for many years. She lived most of her life in South Korea with her loving husband, Sung Yul Yu, who departed this life in 1971. Mrs.Yu left South Korea in 1980 for the United States to live in Los Angeles for many years and later to live with her daughter in Russell where she has lived ever since. A truly charming and attractive lady, Mrs.Yu had a passion for the outdoors. She often enjoyed long hikes in the mountains of her native South Korea as well as tending to her gardens. Mrs.Yu greatly appreciated and was an enthusiast of the Fine Arts. She, herself, was an avid and accomplished photographer. Her beloved family will best remember her as an excellent cook, who was often cooking grand meals for her family that they truly miss. Mrs.Yu had attended service at Assembly of God Church in Agamam. Mrs.Yu is survived by her 4 loving daughters Amy Yo Un of Los Angeles, CA, In Sun Russell, with whom she lived with in Russell, MA, Age Un You of Los Angeles, CA, and Jamie You of Seoul, South Korea, her caring sister King Ho Kim of Seoul, South Korea, her 6 cherished grandchildren, her 4 adored great grandchildren, and her many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Saturday 11:00 am at the Russell Community Church, 58 Main St. Russell, MA. The Robert E. Cusack Funeral Home of Westfield has been entrusted with the arrangements.
