GRANVILLE – Christian J. Jensen, 94, of Granville died Tuesday, May 14, 2013 in Noble Hospital. He was born in Granville on September 7, 1918 to Edward and Anna (Olsen) Jensen.Chris was the owner of Jensen Construction Company and was a US Army Air Corps Veteran of WWII. He enjoyed ballroom dancing and going to flee markets.
Chris was the widow of Julia A. (Fisher) Jensen who died December 13, 1982. He leaves five sons, James C. Jensen of Granville, Jack E. Jensen and his wife Susan of Westfield, Jan B. Jensen and his wife Wendy of Granville, Jerrold A. Jensen of Pittsfield and Jody D. Jensen of Westfield and eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Chris also leaves two brothers, Edward and James Jensen both of Granville. He was predeceased by one brother, Ernest Jensen.
The funeral will be Friday, May 17, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. at Firtion-Adams Funeral Service, 76 Broad Street, Westfield, with burial to follow in Silver Street Cemetery in Granville. Calling hours will precede the service from 9:00-10:30 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in Christian’s memory be made to the Granville Ambulance Fund c/o Town Hall, Main Road, Granville, MA 01034.
